The Gender Perspective. Innovations in Economy, Organisation and Health within the Southern African Development Community (SADC)
Welchen Stellenwert haben die Geschlechterfrage und die Strategie des Gender Mainstreaming innerhalb der „Southern African Development Community“? Am Beispiel der Bereiche Wirtschaft/Beschäftigung, Gesundheit und Organisationen untersuchen die Autorinnen und Autoren Art und Umfang der Geschlechterdiskriminierung sowie Erfolgsbedingungen und Hindernisse bei der Umsetzung von Gender Mainstreaming und berücksichtigen sowohl kulturelle als auch individuelle und organisationale Faktoren. In einigen Beiträgen wird zudem der Zusammenhang von Geschlecht, Klassenzugehörigkeit und ethnischer Herkunft sowie die zentrale Bedeutung der Kategorie Geschlecht für den politischen und gesellschaftlichen Wandel im südlichen Afrika herausgestellt. Der Band dokumentiert eine Tagung der beiden Institute für Frauenforschung und Gender-Studien an den Universitäten Kiel und Pretoria, die im Oktober 2003 in Pretoria veranstaltet wurde.
