Der Band dokumentiert die Beiträge des 10. deutsch-polnischen Seminars zu gegenwärtigen Problemen des internationalen Rechts, das im Mai 2003 in Frankfurt/Oder und S?ubice stattfand. Es wurde gemeinsam von der europäischen Universität Viadrina in Kooperation mit zwei polnischen Universitäten (Krakau und Breslau) sowie der Ruhr-Universität Bochum organisiert. Die Autorinnen und Autoren sind Studierende der vier genannten Universitäten. Das Seminar widmete sich dem Schutz der Menschenrechte in der Europäischen Union; die Beiträge decken eine große Bandbreite an Aspekten ab, wie beispielsweise die Rechtsprechung des Gerichtshofes, die Europäische Menschenrechtskonvention oder die europäische Grundrechtecharta. Zusätzlich finden sich Papiere zu Einzelaspekten, wie dem Schutz sozialer Rechte in der EU, dem Recht auf Leben, der Frage des Datenschutzes oder dem Konzept sowie der Funktion des europäischen Ombudsmannes.
